As above....i have heard you need to disconnect the TPS??True or false??
....false..
false. you need to diconnect the battery or pull the fusible link for the engine managment (for a minimum of 10seconds) to reset the ecu.

oh ho ... my dad took it upon himself to change my idle speed the other day. He just tinkered with the screw under the throttle-cable. Didnt disconnect the battery or fuse or anything. Now my cars idleing at 200 rpm, after starting at 1000.
You do however need to remove IAC sensor wire...Not TPS wire.
tell your dad to maybe leave the commo alone, do a search on "reset idle" or similar, ive heard for the ecotec that resetting the ECU via the disconnect 20 amp engine fuse and attempt to start the car method, and then reinstalling the fuse, starting the car and holding it at 3 grand for 8 seconds, just what ive heard, anyone else heard that?
^^ Thats right, as Dannyboy said, but it sounds like Joe's dad has adjusted the base idle speed screw. This is not a wise thing to do. Joe, if you can work out the position the screw was before he adjusted it put it back where it was, then reset the IAC and ECU by removing the fuse. The IAC automatically adjusts idle speed by adjusting the amount of air flowing to the engine at idle. If it has a problem you should get a fault code.
