    Default windscreen wipers speed

i have noticed that the speed of my wipers even on setting 2 (fastest) isnt very fast especially when compared to Fords and some other newer commodores, and was wondering if anyone knew if there was a way to possibly speed them up or if i could fit ford wiper motors which would be faster. any ideas?

    thanks in advance

It may just be the type of wiper blades you have fitted - some create more drag than others. Another option is to treat the screen with Rain-X which beads the droplets and makes the screen more slippery. Also try some light oil onto the wiper arm pivots. To check if the wiper motor is wearing out pull the wiper arms away from the screen and turn the wipers on and note their speed - turn off and return arms to screen and note if there is a dramatic drop in speed which could be caused by worn brushes/commutator in the wiper motor....do this with water on the screen!

Rain X is gold. I just vacumned my car out, and just put some X on the windscreen.
Hmmm the drag problem could be it, as ive seen some cars have them on the incorrect way.

Have you checked the relay for the wiper motor.....also try running a +12v cable to either the red or green wire at the wiper motor just to see if it runs faster when running direct from the battery.
