    Lightbulb vs clubby twin intake

hey guys im running a twin throttle setup and just wanted to go ahead with twin air pods the shorter the pipe means better throttle response on take off but crap mid to top end power

the longer the pipe is the better mid n top n power become responsive and take off is strected out more is this true i want to know wat u guys think

before i go ahead with this modification

its a vn twin throttle setup design so theres hardly no room with clutch fan in place

what your talkingabout, runner length and size is part of the manifold and something you can't alter, as long as you provide cool clean air to the TB's then thats the best you can do there and then you gotta get it tuned right. which twin TB manifold are you running? VN twin TB would suggest a VN grp A manifold? if that is the case i think foam did say that on a stock 304 the runners are actually to big. you really need a bigger cam to go with it

by pipe you mean the pipe between the filter and the TB's? if it's sucking hot air it certainly can affect how it runs. which intake manifold do you have?

there u go guys as u see in the pic the pipes i got coming from the blue ruber are 45 degree alloy pipes instead of those straight 1s so the intake looks shorter then it was in dat pic could that give affect on tune?

and angle, length and width will only effect the tune if its flowing at different rates to what the car was tuned with. Adding TTB's will stuff the tune and make the car a pig to drive.
In the first post where you are talking about low/mid/top end power, the length of the induction piping will not change how the engine responds. Changing the runners (the piping between the plenum and the induction valve) will effect the torque range

my recommendation is do heaps of researching, google to ur hearts content. once you have a good understanding on what can/will affect what, then u can try to experiment from there.

you already have the intake, find out what it was orginally designed to go with, bigger cam or stroked bottom end..

honestly i'd extend those so that the filters sit where the original filter was and the other over the battery area. where they are now your gonna be getting hot air coming up off the radiator. that setup will certainly provide enough air so that won't be a problem. moving the POD's and adding some shielding with CAI setup should help as nice cool air is 100% better then warm air.

as i mentioned earlier, what happens before the TB's won't effect power as long as it flows enough air (your should be fine) and it's getting cool air.

runner length oyu can't alter unless you start chopping up your manifold (and i don't see you doing that.

i've found with a POD filter you will notice better throttle responce. however if your sucking hot air it may cause some loss of power (possibly what your experiencing)

check my ride thread for some ideas (pics) on how to shield those PODS

yep it seems to be running alot cooler then it was before cheers guys i mite think of running a nice cold air intake pipe
and try n shield those pods off

until i get the blower i wont need to worri about this issue haha
