4HDD compatable with 5HDD??

just wanting to know if the VR trans 4HDD is compatable with the 5HDD..

yes it will all bolt up and run but the torque converter will not lock up. You will have to change the loom to the ecu and ecu to suit a 5dhh transmition. Keep the loom and ecu within the same model VR to VR and VS to VS. Do a search this topic has been covered before.

As cruzn said, it will work. You can use anything up to and possibly beyond a 7HDD - you just need to swap over the extension housing on the later models.

oh, forgot to mention the 4HDD is going to replace the 5HDD..
