I'm trying to change the top idler pulley, not the tensioner pulley. I can't get it undone though. Is it reverse thread? the bottom (ac) pulley was a regular thread.

you could always improvise...long pipe over the ratchet handle
or i could just man up a bit and try turning it the correct way
I must have misread the gregorys book.
Didn't even need a breaker bar.
Next problem - i left the new pulley on my front seat and it has been in full sun for a few hours. Too hot to handle.
