Vr statesman bcm

Hi there

just tried changing over BCMS today from the original BCM (398)
to a VS Statesman series II BCM (399) (And matching key head for the new bcm)the engine turned over but it wouldnt start with the VS BCM also the drivers window automatically went down and wouldnt go back up. when i pressed unlock on the key 1st time indicators flashed twice and nothing happend 2nd tim i pressed unlock it unlocked all of them rather than just the drivers door first. can anyone shed some light on this situtation is there anything else i need to swap over??

maybe different wiring set up, there is a reason other than the change of models for the change in numbers

BCMs are different. with the VS 1 your windows are going down automattically due to the BCM. You have to bypass the BCM for the windows to work properly its not hard I will try and find the info, its on the other forum by the nut. Also if you use a VS BCM you need a VS ecu. I have a VR stato BCM around somewhere if I can find it you can have it cheap.

so what your saying is i need to get a vs ecu for this bcm to work?
