I know the brakes on the six`s were 296x29(?) and the V8`s were 330mmx(?) so will the LS1 one s fit on a VR SS, is it the 296 everyone upgrades to?
and was there any diff in caliper size betwwen the 6 and the 8.

Sick of paying too much for high performance brake pads? Want high performance and cold bite with low rotor wear?

Holden VT, X, Y front and rear brakes are identical for V6 and V8. HSV fitted larger brakes. The VT 296mm rotors and twin piston calipers will fit onto your VR easily with 15in rims but if you go for the 330mm fronts I think you need 17in rims minimum. Regarding the 296mm and 330mm calipers the only difference I've noticed is that the slider is bigger for the 330mm rotors and the rest is identical and for the larger brakes you also need brackets to further extend the caliper to fit the 330mm rotors.
VT-VZ HSV 330 discs are 32mm thick whilst VT-VZ std 296mm and VS 330mm discs are 28mm thick.
There have been some kits on ebay that use the std VT caliper with aluminium adapting bracket over VS style 330x28 discs.
DBA do 330x28's for both the VS 70mm and VT 71.5mm centre bores.
