they are "genie" brand and the reason i asked was i browsed a few parts and by the looks of it there are 2 different starter motors but i assume they should be interchangeable?

should fit fine. i know pacemaker instructions say the starter motor needs to be modified slighty to suit some extractors, but i think the VS one is smaller and doesnt need to be modified.

yes they will fir however they will be a extremely tight fit. I have a VR V8 with VR Pacemakers and i blew the engine. I bought a vn valais engine and rebuilt it and am still using the same extractors however they are extremely tight...

Genies are OK. Not the cream of the crop but better than most. The only problem with the Genies is that they have different primary sections on the RHS to suit different starters. You will need to check if the starter solenoid is on the top or on the side on the VS.
