Hey guys, when i bought my car i didn't notice that it did not have an aerial, so of course the radio does not work.
Where am i able to buy a replacement one and how long would the installation process for one be?
thanks guys
New ones cost about $30 from SuperCheap or Repco and fitting depends on why the old one is not there - even without an aerial you still should get a local station.
sprint auto parts/supercheap auto can healp ya out and there like $40 bucks or less, easy install mate youl figure it out![]()
Thanks guys.
What could be the the worst case scenario in terms of installation time/cost?
Worst case scenario fro a simple instal would be 1 hours labour....however if there was an electric aerial it may take longer especially if the aerial was vandalised. Do you have the cabling intact and is the aerial casing still in the guard?
the part number of the aerial is AP70, brand ''Aepro'' (manual)..
if it was in the front passenger guard,,
- take the wheel off,, in-liner gaurd out (that black plactic)
- install the aerial, run the cable through the firewall, and plug it to the back of the deck
- done!
undo the screws inside guard holding plastic inner guard on, remove, theres a half inch bolt holding aerial in place, undo it and lower aerial. trickiest part is undoing the aeiral cable as it goes through body inside the car so u have to pull interior apart a bit
SIR LS1
the two ton go kart
thanks guys!!![]()
That one will not fit - the Commodore one is specific to Commodores only - Kmart used to carry them and SuperCheap and Repco carry them all the time. You can get a manual one, semi auto or fully auto aerial to suit the Commodore. Its the trim piece where it goes thru the mudguard that has to be correct to fit a Commodore.
