VS Engine number, series one or two

Hi, my VS Series one isn't on its original engine, how can I tell if the engine fitted to it now is from a series 1 or 2 (for purposes of buying parts as some differ, pulleys etc). Its an auto.

VH534000 around Oct/Nov 95 (made)
VH696500 Jun 97 Finish

So I'd say Series I
