could be acouple of things, easiest to start with would be a jamming throttle cable or poorly adjusted cable. Next maybe check the throttle butterfly mechanism itself, see if it opens all the way, and snaps back to shut quickly. Could maybe even be IAC motor is a bit sticky on throttle body? Hey, it could even be the rotor veins on the balancer a bit out of whack on the air gap through crank angle sensor. There is a certain clearance spec there and the veins and rotors should not touch. Is the balancer tight? How is the condition of balancer? Any hair line cracks, chunks missing?

You might need to reset the ECU and IAC ? The new CAS could have confused the computer. This should have happened when you reconnected the battery, but might need to do it again ? Did you play with anything else under the bonnet ...

check all the electrical connections around the area you worked.

could be that you pulled some of the fuel line thingos off for the charcoal canister or a vacume hose?
