    Default VS - VT ECUs

    hey guys does anyone know if the VT ecu is the same as the VS
    the numbers are dif and the memcal numbers are dif too
    has the vt got more power?

    from memory the VT ecu could not be used in place of the VS ecu. The VT ran a different setup and format. It processed information faster and due to this the power increased from the 147kw (vs) to the 152 in the VT. Thats only from memory. So i may be wrong, I know the vx was 100% 152kw and used a different ecu, not sure on the vt though

    vt still had 147kw simlar setup different temp sensor. vx totally different faster ecm which gave it 152kw.

    cheers guys i just got a VT motor to replace my VS one that blew up ! ill try both ECUs see if i can feel a diference

    if the VT ECU wont run the car due to incompatibility with the BCM, all you will need to change is the inlet manifold, you might find that a couple of pulley's are different, change them with the vs ones, or get the VT belt

    VT ecu has the bcm incorporated into the ecu, the VS has 2 separate computers, one ecu and one BCM.
    Not any easy change over.

    couldnt you do a loom conversion? I assume then though that the BCM incorporated into the ECu would then have its own imobiliser? you can get that removed or bypassed too.

    didnt they change that in the later VS's though.

    your right the VT ecu dosnt work on the VS it sparked but wont run.
    im going to look into converting the wiring over to VX as its in a Hilux surf its not realy a prob for me i want as much power as i can get from this motor as well as beter fuel ecomomy...


    oh an by the way were mite i find the temp sensor on the VT??
