What computer?

Hi, I have a '94 BT1 5.0L auto, just wondering what computer would be in it.
It has all SS stuff standard and Acclaim options, would it have the exec, SS or acclaim computer in it (if there is any difference at all). if its the exec comp would it be better going to and SS computer or just get a greenfoam tune done.

the Memcal is what most people refer to as the computer, this controlls the spark and fuel for the engine, Is this what you are referring to? If so then changing the memcal to a SS or acclaim wont do anything because they are the same chip. If you are referring to the BCM (body control module) which controls the locks, electric windows, V-power steering racks etc then you will probably not need to change it as the SS came with the same BCM as the exec.

If you want more power without much cost then get a foam tune

Yeah that is what i was reffering to. Just thought that the v8 exec and v8 ss memcals would have had different air/fuel mix's etc but i suppose that would be all done if i got a foam fune.

no probs mate, the EXEC and SS both has the same 165kw engine, the HSV's had the 185i which was basically a stock 5lt with a knock sensor and headers and advanced timing. And there was the 215' which was a 5.7lt stroker
