is my car an original manual ?

hay guys i was just wondering if my car came out of the factory as a manual because because some of the interior colours around my deck arn't quite the same colour as my senter consol. perhaps we can find this out by looking at the model numbers ?

Do you mean say the plastic cover over the gearstick area compared to the plastic over the handbrake area or vica versa and also the dash face itself?

Just curious as i am a little puzzled

i meant the sides not the black bit where the gear stick sits.

btw the colour difference isn't noticeable i'm just qurious to see if my car was born a manual.

interior means nothing .... commodore interiors get brittle over the years and stuff brakes, look at your compliance plate... whats the trans code

it said trans M78 so im guessing it was born a manual.

I'm pretty sure thats the early 5 speed manual (also called T5) used from VL to VS series 1 when they changed to Getrag.

Check on the build aluminium tag rivetted to the firewall and beside the word TRANS it should say M78 if its factory fitted T5

it said trans M78 so im guessing it was born a manual.

I guess it makes it a factory fitted T5

I think I had about four different plastic colours inside my old VP :P It's great how these cars come together over time ^_^
