Holden VR Ute problem URGENT HELP PLEASE!!!

hey guys wondering if anyone has any ideas or even some help would be awesome! I have recently had a new engine & water pump put into my Holden 1994 VR Ute. Sounds great and everything is fine when it drives, however about 15 minutes into driving the engine light turns on inside the car. i am unsure of why this is occurring? Please help me. Anything would be greatly appreciated. If you can solve this problem you would be my hero!

click on that link that Dave has provided, it will take you to a thread that explains with pictures how to check your car for error codes and what the codes mean.

Read the whole thread, every page to ensure you fully understand everything.

Every time the "check engine light" comes on the ECU will log an error code, you need to know what that code is and what it means, go do that, then let us know.

its a engine light mate, its telling u the ecu has logged a fault, thats a step by step guide how to do a diagnosis from home, follow the instructions and you will be right as rain.

hey guys did the check a few times and it comes up with an error 13? i understand that mean: - RH Oxygen Sensor (O2)........
but i am unsure of what it really is? Would it be expensive to fix? Will it cause any damage to my car if i drive it with the error? Where can i buy a new Oxygen Sensor? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks...

it happened after 15 minutes of driving? Take your car back mate, the have an issue with 02 sensor they put in. or it's not connected back in properly. More likely a fault, they may have hit it when dropping the new engine in.

It won't do any "real" damage to your car but you will probably go through a lot of fuel as your car will be running rich or lean depending on the type of fault that has occured.

Co2(oxygen) sensor- about $170 from holden dealer last time i Brought 1. this is fitted just in front of the Cataylic converter, possibly behind i cant remember.piss easy to put it in, unscrew and unplug, screw the new 1 in and plug it in. too easy, bear in mind i have had 2 VR's and this code has come up, replaced the Co2 sensor and it was still doing the same thing, turned out it was actually the crank angle sensor that was the problem, good luck removing the harmonic balancer to get too it! LOL i had to make a puller to get it as i could not buy 1 big enough. let me know how you go.
