    Default statesman interior

hey all, i have a 93 VR acclaim sedan. And i was thinking of getting a set of statesman seats/center consol/door panels, to improve the look withought spending a heap on a whole new car

Do all these parts fit the same as a normal commadore? I heard that the back seats are a little wider or something like that? Also, will the 'corner air vents' on the door panels match as well?

    hey jess

its probably not worth it imo. It may cost alot of buy, fit and get working all for something that does the same job as is already inside of ur car now.

Unless you just go leather seats, that would be the go if u wanted them but redoing a whole dash isnt worth it.

naa naa wasnt doing the WHOLE DASH- just the seats, door panels, and the center consol bit- where the cd player/aircon is and the gearshift/box lid thing is, very pretty wood grain effect on it.

And yeah leather seats would be the go- thats if the stato's had leather seats too?

and yes got a PM just then- all parts fit perfectly as well

Nope, the doors are identicle across all models. Only the window frames are different on wagons. The extra length is found in the gap behind the door.

The rear seat definately fits, mate had them in his VP. the 'extra' section just folds inwards to sit properly.

there u go couple of pics the door trims and front seats fit perfect. so does the bum part on the rear seats but the back part near the doors the foam under the leather needs to be trimed a bit then just wrap the excess leather round cause there wider.

got the chrome handles aswell and the leather wheel its a bit smaller than like normal wheel half an inch or so.

I love the cloth seats over leather. Comes down to choice I guess. I'm happy with the seats - just went for a drive and they are a great upgrade over the Calais seats I had.

The Calais seats are off the the 89 green sedan

Yeah, leather on seats (well, early holden leather) sucks. I'd have cloth seats any day of the week

I'm try to scab a rear base VQ Statesman seat for the wagon - see it that will fit. I think they are the same size. Look so much better than the Executive version and the wreckers are full of them now.

i have a vp and i was interested in re-doing the interior what the cheapest options to making it look the part without spending big money.
also whats the best options to get some extra power out of the engine without blowing the bank. i already have 2 inch exhaust system and chip.

I have got coming a VS Calais woodgrain centre console. Is it just a matter of removing the gear selector surround and snapping the new one in place? I ask because the woodgrain panel covers most of the console - from the arm rest to the sunglasses space whereas the current one is smaller and starts near the front of the handbrake.

To help convey what I am trying to say:

This is the type of console that I currently have: (note that I am referring to panel that surrounds the gear selector)

And this is the panel that I am getting:

It is evidently brand new and cost about $70.00. It is fortunate that I have a wood grain ash tray for it.
