Themo Fan Not Working,, Cause any Problems??

Hi guys,,

after driving the car (VS Ecotec) for 2 days without the Themo Fan working,, and the temp gauge is not working now, will this cause any damage to the engine? how can i fix the temp guage? where the sensor located?

you need the thermo fan otherwise your motor will overheat in a short amount of time on a hottish, even mild day. could be the motor burnt out on the thermo, the switch could be faulty, or could be a fuse or relay.

try turning the aircon on and wiggling the connections to see if its something simple.

just find out that the plug was loose !! pluged it back and the themo fan is working fine..

but!!! i'm still worry about the car that been driven without the themo fan working for 2 days,, will there be any damage to the engine?

you never know, how many trips did you make, how long for and did you notice any unuual smells, sounds etc? chances are you could pass it off as if it never happened but it COULD have done damage. just monitor it over the net week or 2 including oil/coolant colour, any problems resulting in lack of power and the like.

Post back if there is but at this point in time i wouldnt worry yourself over nothing if its driving ok
