CHANGING COLOR BULBS VS calais

im looking for information on if i can change the color of the lights in other items appart from my dash cluster .... eg climate control including the LCD and trip computer lights ???? wondering if it would be as simple as opening up the climate control unit and changing the bulbs ???? an info will help heaps hey just wanting to know if its possible ?????

With the climate control I'm pretty sure it can be done with some SM (surface mount) LED's, would need to know which type and voltage but definitely should be possible in theory (unless it's impossible to get to the board where they're soldered to).

Trip computer I think is a normal bulb in the unit but I think there may be a coloured lens behind making it light up whatever colour it is that it lights up (I assume green but don't have high model so can't check), so blue should be possible as blue passes through green (if what I said is correct).

Very common question. The lights themselves are white - its the facica of the instrument clusters etc that give the colour. Your best bet is to replace these. Putting a blue bulb in behind a green lens isnt really going to give you the effect you are after. Hope these help:

There are other guys around and some do custom graphics and designs and can probably change the colour of the lens too to get the colour you are after.

Climate control is possible but you have to be handy with a soldering iron. Trip computer might be an easy one? You can purchase the bulbs with a blue lens that will fit straight in and might work.

hey so thats good for me then im really good with a soldering iron ...... umm so do u know of any places that would make custom one offs ???? i am toying with keeping the black and going full red dials and stuff or going white faces with white limination at night to match the head unit ..... wanna make it all look uniform now that i have my cd player set i figure im gonna change the dash lights around that thanks

and also what about my dash LCD/TFT screens ??? would that be the same case as in just solder on new SM LEDS ????
