    Unhappy is there meant to be oil on here?

    as title says, i think this might be a dumb question but i don't know the answer.

    thats from the pcv valve. the crankcase needs to breathe, and in this day and age its not allowed to vent to atmosphere, so its vented back into the intake.

    unsure how much is generally in a decent condition ecotec, but its not dripping with oil, and has probably never been cleaned, so id say its normal

    Actually generally yes, as Hako has said, the PCV valve vents from the crankcase, this causes some oil to spit through with it, there is also another vent from the top of the inlet manifold that pipes into the valley, that vent is plumbed into the TB and oil comes in via this as well.

    It would be better to run it all to catch cans I guess.

    yep, run it all to a recirculated catch can, let the can catch the liquid, and any gases go back into the engine.
