Faulty ABS module causing limp mode?

Having a problem with my VR randomly going into limp mode when i start it. The engine light stays on, but it wont go into diagnostic mode to give me a code. it just stays as a constant light. when i turn the ignition on, i hear the abs module making 4-5 fast relay-like clicking noises before my engine fan comes on for limp mode. my brakes havent felt right lately, and i remember it going into limp mode one night as i was braking, so is it possible that this is the cause of my problem?

The ABS and PCM are separate systems so a CEL won't be from an ABS fault.

by PCM do you mean ECU? ive just heard things about dead ABS modules causing a heap of problems, and mine is making those clicking noises which just doesnt sound right

Technically on a manual I suppose it would be an ECM, but yes.

There may be a common cause for both a CEL and the relay switching.

(I hadn't read your other thread on the same fault when I made the earlier post here and you have given more info. in that).

I may be wrong but if you pull the fuse on the ABS system it cannot set any faults or in any way affect normal braking. ABS is designed to be failsafe and to basically work in the background.
