If you plan to keep your 5L fairly stock then go for a tri-y with twin magnaflows into a single 3 inch system. When you go to the exhaust shop, tell them you want it noisey and they can give you a muffler to suit. If your going for a higher horsepowered stroker, go for defillipo 4 into 1s and twin 2 and a half inch system. You could go for twin 3s but most highflow cats taper to 2 and a half anyway. A pod filter will change your note a bit aswell. Cheap power. Let us know how it goes.

What are you on about?? you can buy cats in whatever size you want, they don't "taper off" to some random size lol

How does a pod filter change the noise coming out the exhaust?

So are you changing the whole exhaust or no?

If you want to modify the one you have, take it to a muffler shop and get a cat back system or get them to take one of your mufflers out.
If it was me, i'd get a twin 2.5" with generic high flow cats and mufflers up front and maybe two hotdogs down the back.
But thats easy enough said, i do them myself.

I know you can get any size you want. i was just talking bout the high flow cats that difillipo do. I was on the fone to daren this arv and thats exactly what he said. Magna flows come in 3 inch yeh.. your right. As for the pod, noticed a big difference in my exhaust note when you put your foot down. Sounded heaps better!

gutted cats sound **** and have a gay tingy noise to them + ur risking a mad fine for it..

as for the exhaust i got a twin 2.5 hiflow metal cats into an X-pipe then twin 2.5 all the way through into 2 mufflers in the middle 1 muffler per pipe then into
twin 2.5 pipes . i didnt want mine to loud but so i got a resonator on the rear ..
if u want loud have no resonator and it will scream

lol.....that is the funniest thing i've read in a while.

    Have a look in here......

    HowStuffWorks "Internal Combustion"

then tell me how a pod filter can affect the noise that comes out your exhaust pipe.

I'll even give you a hint....

    it doesn't!

No they won't, but they will put an emissions tester up your tailpipe and quietly slip your wallet out of your pocket too.

That's what forums are all about, I guess. I can understand though that a pod will increase induction noise, especially on WOT, but I'm at a loss to explain why it would make a difference to sound out the back.

No offence, but the older among us have all heard that before. Sometimes though, all you have to do is 'look' guilty and they'll pull you bare-arsed over a bed of hot coals.

It probably is the induction noise i can hear. The overall sound inside the car was different, just assumed it was the exhaust making all the noise. Cheers for setn it straight dude

what ever you do dont do what i saw someone do the other day, they had a stock v6 nothing special done to it but they wanted it loud so they straped on one of those boyracer big boar exaust tips, it made the car sound like a peice of s**t subaru, tinny sounding bastard lol

good luck with your mods bro, if you do it right youll end up with a wicked sounding weapon, mine is loud and when i blast infront of the lil baby 4clilinder jobs they look shocked that im only running a 2"exaust!

My mate got done a week ago, took the corner a tad fast, course then they searched his entire vehicle for a good 20 minutes, yellow sticker for having shoddy door interior, uncovered air pod, one wheel was different size due to flat tyre, oh and for not wearing same coloured socks.. copped a $100 fine for not having P plates up lol.

Why are air pods illegal anyway?

    Thanks.
