you prob won't notice much difference in driving, there would be some difference on say on a dyno, and also the convenience of being able to clean it out is a bonus too.

Well its one of those things that all add up, if you just put a KN filter on and go for a drive you wont notice that much. But if your keen on a good CAI setup the KN filter outflows many if not every other brand and can also be cleaned and has a million km warranty. a normal filter just cannot compare and since you have to keep chucking them away for a 'new' crap filter you just buy one for life. (probably cheaper in long run)
remember as long as it fits the airbox they can be used on any vehicle

edit: yeah a pod will outflow the filter but you need to heatshield the pod otherwise it will have a detrimental effect, so the filter is great for the 'stock' look.

ALso ive actually had a KN filter for about 7 months and its still clean as, i take it out the box and give it a small clean every few weeks

I just noticed a small amount of better pickup. Only had it a short while.

The big thing about the K&N is that it is reusable. If you plan on keeping your car for some time, you can probably make a saving over disposable fitlers.

The only problem there being that the K&N is about $100. A disposable might cost, say $10. If you replaced the filter once a year, you would need to keep the car 10 years to break even. Not only that, but you then need to buy the K&N cleaning kit.

I do have one in the car. I checked the fuel usage - no change. If anything it would let more air in, which means more fuel, which means your fuel economy would be worse.

Power - Unless there is something really wrong with your current filter you're not going to notice any difference with a K&N. It may be there, but certainly nothing that you could notice.

There have been guys on here too that have posted websites of independant testing that showed that K&N wasnt really all that flash. You than have K&N saying they have independant tests showing they are.

At the end of the day, $100 is two tanks of fuel. Your choice, just telling you what I know.

You can buy a genuine K&N filter cheaper off eBay (including delivery).

ive got a Lukey panel air filter they are like $40 from Bursons... before that i was useing a K&N... the Lukey has the same feel and flow as the K&N. i like them cause they are cheaper and also they dont have oil on them like the K&N's do. cause when the K&N's get dirty it tends to suck that dirty oil stuff into your throttle body bit bit

I honestly couldn't feel any difference between the K&N filter and the stock paper one. Probably flows better, but i can't feel it. My Foamy tune made the sweetest difference.

k@n has the best flow rate, cheapies have best bang for buck, redline and lukeys are about 5 % less flow . only real value i see in k@n is wank factor sticker on air box . and the fact u can clean it properly every time u get dirty on me . better than a 14 dollar a 4 month bill for new filter
