Default Still ****ing out coolant. What could it be?

Just replaced the water pump with the one I bought of Reaper, and the car is still leaking cooland from the exact same place.

Any ideas what this could be. It seems to be coming from under the water pump onto the pulley underneath it. All the radiator hoses are new, the heater hoses are old but there seems to be no coolant running from the top of the water pump.

I Can't afford to take it to a mechanic so all help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

**Edit: It only does it after being started then turned off. There is no leak when the car is running, or after I put the radiator back in and filled it with coolant.

on the underside of the water pump there is a little hole...

all water pumps have it as a signal to show the seal is gone possibly letting water into the bearings..

if its comin out of there water pump is shagged

Heater tap's brand new. Not sure about the manifold gasket, I'll check that in a sec.

Manifold gasket looks like its not leaking. There doesn't seem to be any cooland leaking anywhere else besides under the water pump.

Whats the easiest way to see if its coming out of that hole? and is the seal replaceable?

a little mirror and a torch id say..

im pretty sure its not, theres no huge reason you cant drive it as is for now.. but when the pump starts sounding noise the bearings are about to spit

Dodgy - sounds like the seal is gone. New water pumps are around the $60 mark for a cheapie and around $90 for the heavy duty ones.

if you silicon the hole coolant will most definatly fvck the bearing completely

GRRRR. I bought that one on here for $30 just to tie me over till next year cause I'm in the car industry and Holden/Ford are giving us no work and we aren't getting paid for it. That's the last time I buy stuff on here :|

Thanks for all your help peoples.

Getting the money for the pump back minus shipping.
I'm considering selling/swapping the car for a V6, as it is now, instead of getting it all fixed then selling/swapping it next year. I can't be fvcked working on it anymore.

The hole you are refering to is called a WEEP HOLE it is designed to tell you
that coolant is contaminating the impellar shaft bearing, if it is leaking through this hole renew the pump imediately, because the bearing is about to fail real soon.

I got mine replaced a year ago my mechanics, just dropped it in as it started leaking again....lucky he will still fix it after a year....when you fix it, add the Holden Pellets as well, they help to seal around the pump, hoses, intake manifold gasket, small leaks in radiator etc......and yes clear sign is that it always leaks once turning off the car...as pressures change, bearing stops spinning etc etc.

Dont be stupid man, its just a water pump. Once you do things properly, all should be good

Make sure you got the right water pump. There were 2 different water pumps used in VRs, as they changed them mid-way through, so depending on when the car came off the production line, it may need the other one. Take you engine number to Repco and they'll sort you out. $80 for a dodgy Indonesian one, or $100 for a Japanese one. Use a bit of silicon on the gasket, and you should be sweet. I can't think of anything else that close to the water pump that it could possibly be. Maybe the one you bought was warped?

The one I bought to last me till I had a bit more spare money next year was fvcked - leaking out the weep-hole, and I got told they were good for any 304 but I though they changed a bit.
They have them at Sprints for $67, but right now I barely have enough money to pay bills/buy food cause Holden is going to **** and we don't get paid for the days off cause all our annual leave is barely enough for x-mas, So getting rid of it now is more finacialy viable.

When I got the cash and do the water pump, is there anything else worth replacing just for the fvck of it? I have some old head gaskets still in the packet in the shed, was going to change them and maybe the intake manifold gasket.

Figured may as well do it all while everything is out of the car

Inlet manifold would be a good one. But hey do the head gasket too if ya got time. Always good to do that one.
