hey, i know its probly internal but does ne1 knw a trick to stop the auto change from 1st to 2nd, even though your in 1st..
drives me nuts>>
has ne1 got it done and where did the go or if you can even do it without getting a full manual auto set up in da trans..
thanks...
it's a safety feature in the tune and i think the only way to get around it is a fully manualised valve body

How involved do you want to get?

Just last night I was reading about changing the valve body to fully manualize the 4L60E, that may be your only option. I don't think you can tune it out.
Mine's always stayed in 1st unless I change it into 2nd.
How many revs do you need, I often set them up to shift at 6000
Mine also doesn't have a rev-limiter if that's something to do with it not shifting either
what does a full manual valve body cost roughly??
you can pick a kit up for around $300+ expect the + it can get a bit technical though and I dont think it is as simple as slotting in a valvebody someone else has allready done I think some external components are required, which will require a hole in the side of the trans.
I could be wrong though, google and Ebay might end up your best friends.
I was reading an article in a mag....Perth Street Cars I think it was, there is a place that does manual valve bodies. Physically looking at the pictures, the electric connection between where the shift solenoids are is replaced with a copper pipe. I think thats how it is done.
you can get it tuned out dude dont bother with valve body n **** unless u wan to upgrade autowith other mods stronger internals ect no need u jst want it off for fun ey
