Ok due to a few threads recently I thought i'd compile other peoples hard work into one thread.

the only reason it may not work after replacing the battery is that it is stuffed because theyre not made to be cracked apart like an oyster shell.
    Q. Will running around my car three times anti clockwise will pushing the buttons on my key randomly and screaming to the heavens "I am the white unicorn" reprogram my keyhead (Or program my new keyhead off of ebay, or link my old keyhead to the BCM I got from the wrecker)

    A. No, apparantly they can only be programmed once, go see Mr Minute or a locksmith who might have the equipment, holden can do it too.

    A. Holden or a large locksmith chain like Mr Minute.

    Q. Can I repair it myself.

    A. Yes you can replace the battery and repair buttons there are a few threads.

Central Locking Key Repair - Pre-VS - Ignore what this thread says about wiping the internal memory

    Q. I parked my car at the shops and now i wont unlock all was fine?

    A. its happened to us all hasn't it? wrong car dude, no just kidding, try this thread.

Button will not activate central locking. How to fix.

    Q. How do I repair those buttons?

    A. Go to the wreckers, get another keyhead with good buttons, when you pull your keyhead appart you will notice that the buttons dont just come off, use the top half of the wreckers keyhead and wholla.

Thanks to everyone else for the info.

    Good thinking DannyboyDS.
The locksmith chains like Mr Minute do the whole deal for about $100 which saves running around. My problems have been with the actual buttons falling apart....they must be designed to last about 2 years and they don't seem to be available separately..
