Would it be ok to take out the rear spring insulators on the top of each spring to drop it down half an inch more? Will I get any noises? Wrap tape on the top of the spring maybe?
Cheers.
not a good idea....
but u can get the thinner bottom insulators and replace the top ones with them. $2.50 each from any auto store
Better off going with lower springs.
If you're short of cash to buy new go to the wreckers and see if you can pick up a set of super or ultra lows, probably cost you about 40-50 the pair.

Well I haven't got any in for the time being. Looks great, the tyre sits more under the guard now. I haven't heard any noises as of yet probably because I wrapped tape around the top of the spring but that wont last too long I'd imagine so I might get some more bottom insulators and put them on the top so it's not metal on metal soon.
Cheers Guys.
Live axle rear end? Got an adjustable panhard bar?
You should before you lower it any further.
Yeah VT-565 everything done... Bushes, shocks, springs (SSL rear and SL front I think) adjustable panhard rod, and yes sorry, Live Axle.
Cheers.
with the adjustible bar thing, is it 100% needed or just recomended
recommended, i dont have one and mine is fine.... doesn't scrub or anything (but i have 205's on the ass end)
mmm every now and then mine scrubs the passenger rear guard now with them out every now and then... running 225's 15's. Never scrubbed before I riped them out and the panhard is adjusted more than enough... I get more of a bang because there is no insulation. (of course) Then again maybe its hitting the shaved bump stops lol. I think Whiteline make a 4mm, 6mm and 10mm upper insulator so I might look into that, or maybe some spare bottom ones would be ok but I think they are slightly different.
Recommended until you hear your LH rear quarter panel eating your tyre over bumps.. then needed.
245 19s on a VN, rolled guards, superlows, fine without adj. panhard. My VR, however, much the same setup, needed one with the same wheels. Go figure. Depends on the car sometimes I guess...
Wavez: just buy some springs at the height you want, don't **** around with the mounts. Springs are cheap. Get a couple of sets and swap rears whenever you like, it's reaaaaalllllyyy fun.
