My VS ABS activates just as you drive off for about 2 sec's causing the brakes to come on by themselves. No warning lights on everything seems fine. Anyone else had this problem or a fix for it.![]()
Sorry don`t know. But that sounds very dangerous I would be getting it looked at ASAP mate.

Thanx for the reply. My main concern is that this only started about a week ago and i have had the car for over 10 years. I'll keep looking .Cheers Dazzar
The ABS motor comes on for a second or two and if you are gently resting on the brake pedal it pulses like when ABS controls a locking wheel under hard braking. Then it stops, checked the fault code for ABS shows #63 -Valve relay control fault. Where and how do fix that?
All commodores from the VN onwards run a quick diagnostic on the ABS module after having just started the vehicle. This test occurs the moment the car starts to roll forward or reverse. Its duration is about 1.5 secs during which time you can hear and feel this on the brake pedal. In all the years of owning commodores, I have never felt any braking effect while the test occurs, other than that you hear it.
Now from what you have said so far, and the fact its behaviour has after 10 years caught your attention plus the fact an error code has now appeared, clearly you have a problem somewhere within the ABS module, as I'm sure you would agree.
With an error like #63 - Valve relay control fault, I would be a little concerned driving the vehicle at all. Perhaps, dirt has somehow blocked some small passage within the ABS module, and a simple brake fluid replacement may unblock it and fix the problem, but I'm only guessing. If that doesn't work then alternatively replace the ABS module with a second hand unit from the wreckers.
Thanx for the reply. Have pulled fuse to ABS and done a safe controlled road test in a flat quiet area. Did a couple hard stops with out and with ABS connected no problems . Will still investigate further to see if it is a sensor or maybe Ive got some crap on the sensor rings in wheels. Only appears to be front wheels affected its just niggly thing I'm being anal about Thanx again i will post a thread if i fix it
