The VS has a leak in the radiator drivers side near top, close to RH headlight.
Are these easily fixed or are their problems in plastic surrounding the core..
Have no idea please advise..
You can get plastic end tanks replaced at any reputable radiator shop, had one done a while back think it cost around $80 (VS 2 V8 alloy)from memory, shouldnt be too much variation in price for a V6 unit.
If its starting to leak it will (probably) fail when least expected with dramatic results as this is a common weak point. New radiators can be had for just over $100 on Ebay brand new. You can opt for repair if you can find a radiator repair place but with new ones so cheap one wonders.
If your core is good, get the end tank replaced.
Radiator shop will (should!) clean the tubes out as they remove both end tanks. You only get a couple of goes with the alloy radiators before you have to replace them.
Thanks buys i'll see what the radiator place says..
Same thing happened to mine last year, I was told to replace the whole radiator. If there's a leak in the RHS then there's a good chance the LHS might not be far behind it. If you do, ring around as prices vary greatly for radiators...
Last year I got 5 quotes, ranging from $150 (Pooraka Radiators, Adelaide) - $241 (Repco). All brand new with plastic side tanks.
Picked one up a few weeks ago for my bros VT Calais v6 $220 brand new in the box with no exchange or anything, from NATRAD.
Allways get good deals from the guys down there.
