Ok so a little while ago I stopped my car, turned it off and left the key in the ignition for about 10mins and I didnt get out, I then went to start my car and it wouldnt start, the accessories and everything came on but it wouldnt start. After alot of stuffing around i locked it got a lift home, came back to try again and it started straight away. Now if I leave it unlocked for more than 30seconds or so I cant start it and I have to lock the doors using the remote unlock them then it starts
Does anyone know what has happened here? I am guessing its an immobaliser issue, the thing is that before this incident I had sat in my car many times for more than 15mins or so and had no probs starting it.
Any help would be great as its really starting to give me the ****s.
Cheers Jack
I think you may find that this is "normal" - if I leave the keys in the ignition for more than 5 mins I have to press the unlock button to disable the immobiliser before the engine will turn over. (you'll hear a swish sound). Previous times when you say you sat in the car for 15 mins and no problems maybe you had the accessories on.
