5speed gearbox whine

my recently purchased cheap cheap 5lt vs 5 speed ute has a whine in every gear so im assuming a main shaft bearing is on way out any one know if any bearings can be changed while box is still in the car or are they all an inside job

Take it out.

Clean environment means the box should last as long as you have the car provided it's used as intended.

The box will have to come out. No easy way around it.

Its not just the gentle little whine the T5 boxs tend to have your talking about. I dont notice it anyone, but when you first drive one, it sounds wrong but its actually ok

Unless someone's gone in there and replaced the entire box with straight-cut gears
