    Default VR sleeper look??

    G'day
im 16 and i've claimed my mums vr berlina lol, had it in the family for 12 yrs, best car we've ever owned.
im in the process of planning mods and such and one thing im thinkin about is rims.
i wanna know what yous thinks of the sleeper look as im pretty tight for cash
i was thinkin of a set of black interceptors all round, and a set of superlows on the rear and ultralows on the back. im goin for a cleaner look too by removing all badges and throwin on some limo tint and a cat back system ( extractors will come later). im aimin for the ultimate cruiser.
Its that dark metallic green colour, i reckon it will look alright with the black stockies

a sleeper is basically a car that has racing suspension, but not really low. has fat tyres for grip, but not huge 18's or the alike. and a poop load of horses under the bonnet.
a sleeper shouldnt look to much different from a stock car, the idea is to not draw attention.

as for all your mods. if your prepared to wait and do reasearch you can modify on a very tight budget. i have. i got lowered springs for $80. got a set of 18's with great tyres for $600. and so on. if the budget is tight. just suck it up and go stocko for a while. my car was stock for nearly 6 months. but after alot of digging i found a great dealer of used parts.
If it aint broke, dont fix it.

Hey Berly. Tom is right blacks might not be the best with dark green or the sleeper look but each to their own. A nice set of 17" alloys with it dropped low like you plan would look real tidy. You can pick them up cheap these days.

i had a sleeper cortina. 4.2 falcon running gear and hard suspension but stock body.
with yours go silver or gold stockers and dont lower it too much. makes it useless if you have a few mates in it.

im with you on this 100%

I just spent some spare time when I was bored scouring wreckers or the for sale section of these forums looking for cheap upgrades, I do all my own work and mods, etc, etc

I also have spent too many hours : reading through the forums searching for ideas and learning from other people, and there mistakes, HAHA to them.

ah huhh! i found the rims i'd like ( depending on price coz im pretty povo atm lol), a set of BBOSS Eleanors anyone know roughly how much a set of 18's would cost?, i reckon they look mint. I'd like anything as long as they arent huge chunks of chrome hangin off my car. Deep dish rims are nice too.

I'm taking it that you DON'T want to make your car a sleeper then?

I mean, we're talking stock wheels, hubcaps, full load of V6 badges, a bowling hat on the parcel shelf...

With rims, low suspension, tint and an exhaust you'll just look like every other boy racer

so not going for the sleeper look?
    more so the clean look?

i think a set of silver interceptors with all the mods you said.... but try and put some VE interceptors, 16's and i think you can throw 235's(?) on there

My car is in the same colour (sherbrooke green), and I'm trying to do it into a sleeper too. I've done the tint, cat-back, extractors, and am soon doing the oxygen sensors, suspension and the air intake. My ride has just got the VY SS 17s on it, and whilst they don't exactly look anything like stock, they don't scream for attention either. Not sure what you could get for a budget, but I don't think black would suit the colour of the car. Stick with your standard alloy colour I reckon. You can make it look nice and neat without telling the world you've spent a lot of money on it. Best of luck doing it up, and show us some pics when you've done stuff.

If your trying to "make a sleeper" then you dont need to be talking about rims

if u wanted a sleeper, u would be modding the shiz out of the engine and not even touching the outside. seems to me your going the complete opposite lol. no offence or anything, i think it will look sweet lowered with 17's ect but it wont be a sleeper
