New Tow Bar Installation

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know where to get a Tow Bar installed (supply and fit) and how much it roughly costs?

I am in South East Melbourne.

look up towing or towbar in the yellow pages. Hayman Reese are the best but cost heaps, and most of the others are OK too.

I picked a Hayman Reese towbar for $20.00 on ebay. I was the only bidder which was what I almost expected - the chance that someone would want to fit a towbar to an old car would be slim, and they are model specific. The one I needed was for a VR with IRS. It was easy enough to fit. Cable and socket for lighting was another $19.99 at Supercheap.

How easy is it to install?

New ones for up to 1350kg are $350 fitted and heavier one is about $550. Wreckers or classifieds or Ebay are much cheaper. Not hard to fit if you have a 13mm drill and a trolley jack to lift towbar up to car body to drill holes.
