Hey everyone i just found this site while searching google for advice on my vr commodore.
The problem is i have almost no brakes on it even though i have brand new brake pads, rotors, tyres, master cylinder the lot is all new including the rubbers in the front end but still has crappy brakes.
I have had it checked by ABS and a couple of other places they say nothing is being dected as a problem and if there is it is just a matter of elimination.
So i am hoping someone else has had a similar problem and may have a solution or maybe someone could sugest something else for me to try???????
I would love to get this probelm fixed soon hopefully!!!!!!!
have you had them bleed properly???
get a mechanic to ave a look...

Crappy brakes how? Low pedal? No stopping ability? What exactly is the problem? It can be a bit hard to offer advice on such a broad description of a problem.
check vacuum hose to brake booster for leaks. What are you comparing braking power to? i have a vr with twin spot brake upgrade (on it when i bought it), i have to be careful when applying brakes cause it really pulls up hard. apparently the brakes are pretty **** as standard, thus the reason for the upgrade i guess.
How long have you had it and when did the problems start. The standard brakes are pretty crappy as they are, thats why lots of people have upgraded them here. But i dont think thats your point, they were fine, but now they are not yeah.
Is the problem a low pedal, the car does not stop as good anymore with the same pedal pressure, is the pedal hard, are there grinding noises, is the pedal spongy under your foot?????.
Some things to check:
Check the booster and vacume line if the pedal is hard or sinking to the floor
Check to see if one of the calipers are seized if braking power has decreased substatially for no reason
Check brake fluid levels
Check for air in the calipers and lines if the pedal is spongy
