    Default HSV VR 185i specs

    Hi peeps,

    Just looking for some help.

    I noticed one of my rear tyres has been scored on the outside fouling the inside of the arch.
    Just thought it was due to sagged springs - but i checked again and the rear tyres are 255/45/17, the fronts are 235/45/17

    What size should be on there?. I have standard wheels.

    I also want to check my ride height to try and see if the springs are shagged. I need to get new tyres due to wear on the inside, but thats pointless if the springs are shagged cos they won't last long either. Then i can get the alignment/camber checked out.

    Anyone know what the ride height should be as standard?

    Current measurements from hub centre to wheel arch are
    F= 357mm
    R= 365mm

    Thank you :-)

    255 seems a bit big. 235s normally, or 245s

    Thanks for the tyre info. Any recommendations on cheap (ish) tyres. People seem to rate Maxxis ?

    you can pick up kuhmo excsta's for around 160ish, there are a few cheaper brands, ive got talon triangle on the front of mine, and there are obviously more expensive tyres

    tyres are one of those area's where cheaper certainly isn't best. having said that, i've just fitted some accelera tyres which seem to rate fairly well in the last Wheels mag tyre test.

    those are fairly wide treads, however should be fine still as i ahve seen 265's on commodores. maybe if it's been lowered and not had a camber correction kit fitted it may be causing your problems
