    Question Vs air con

    hey, i recently went to get my air con gased for summer but as always its never that simple..
    i've had all the outside air con parts fixed.. (piping, condenser, receiver drier) but when they went to pump it the tx valve (sumtin like) that was buggerd, that was replaced but the internals were leaking gas.. he said it was the condenser thats under the dash..
    i dunno how much this will cost to fix...
    does ne1 know a good place (cheap) to get this fixed..
    and does ne1 knw how much im looking at..
    and is it hard to do myself..
    i thought about doing jst a bit iffy on taking the dash apart.
    let me know.
    thanks

    Its the evaporator under the dash (condenser is at front) and the main cost is labour removing the dash...about 6 to 8 hours plus the evaporator, oil,gas etc.....so look at a minimum of $1000. Do a search on this forum on removing the dash....may also be something in the "how to" section. Removal is not rocket science....just time consuming.

    Wink labour save

    I have the same prob mate and my mechanic told me about $1400 with labor.
    That is for both heating and cooling, as both should be done because of hassle to remove dash to do them , (you only want to pay once he also told me to remove as much dash as i can whilst still being drivable to cut down on his costs for labor which would now be about $500.glove box, panels etc.
    the parts u seek should be available from NatRad. Google it mate. and good luck to you.
