    Default Alternator Problems. HELP!

Hi, My brother has a vs clubsport.
    Its having issues....
Its not charging the battery. We just fitted a new alternator but its still not charging.
We start the car and with a multimeter on the battery we can watch the volts drop as the car idles away. Eventually around the 10v mark the car starts to run like crap.
What could be causing this? Wiring from the alternator to the battery??
    Where would I start looking??
    Any help appreciated!!
    Cheers!!!

First check I'd make is that there is continuity between the fat connector on back of alt and the + terminal of the battery. If not its possible that one of the fusible links has blown. Trace the wire.

check wire from the back of the alternator, check to make sure it's not corroded, or burnt away, also if dealing with your alternator be sure to replace the insulator, a $2 part worth replacing!

Theres also some little wires that plug into the back of the alternator. If you got a manual, have a look in the back at the schematics and see which one comes from the ignition and make sure it has 12v on it.
But first i would check your fuses under the dash, the one for the previous mention wire to the alternator might be blown.
