Hey guys i've done a search and i couldn't find any threads on how to install an aftermarket gear boot on a manual VR/VS. Would anyone be able to link me to a thread with instructions or tell me how to do it?
Thankyou.
I'de like to know this too actually, id like to put a leather one in mine, but i cant see how the standard retaining ring would hold it. anyone got a leather one that could enlighten us on how it stays in?????
You can use a different type of clip, I think they even go on the outside of that retaining boot.
I'll get a pic of my setup tomorrow for you's/

Thats the gearboot. Had it custom made, the black made it too much black around the console area.

Heres the old clips i was using.
And here it is just now when i put a standard holden gear boot retainer on. So you can just use the normal retainer.

It was 'really' tight getting it on there, and as you can see, i gave up and didn't fit it perfectly. Although its not being used atm.
I wouldn't say its universal for an aftermarket or custom made leather one.
