Default to isolate which cylinder at fault...

because of bottom failure, to see if its just a specific cylinder causing knock will is it possible to disconnect individual injector's wiring connector and run the engine? Will this damage the computer or anything... back in the day before EFI i knew you could just short out spark plugs but just want to be sure so I don't damage the computer or anything non-engine related which is going to be replaced anyway.

If so, and the noise completely goes away, is it possible to drive with only 4 or so cylinders (keeping in mind the engine is going bye bye anyway)

haha, thats an awsome idea, It shouldn't hurt the computer, or anything really other then the Engine itsself.

That is the cylinder layout, so it should be pretty basic, I cant say it is safe though, but it shouldnt hurt anything but the engine in theory :P just push the little wire clip in on the injectors and pull the plug.

lol running on 4 cylinders should t be a problem seeing as its a dead motor anyway...as me mates VS was only running on 4 cylinders due to a burnt out coil pack (read nothing on the meter) and he drove about 40 k's like that at 110k's so yeh l;ol
