    Default Driveline Vibration

    Hey

Can somebody help? I've got an auto series 1 VS Calais V6, with a slight vibration, its always been there, it only appears when accelerating from a standing start, at around 1500 to 2000 rpm. Ive had the auto box rebuilt and ballanced the tailshaft, its not in the wheels, tyres or brakes as they have all been changed and the vibration still there.

Anybody got the same problem, or know what it may be?

    Thanks Dave

Discs need machining? Did they do an alignment and balance on the new wheels? Could be many things...

    could also be the shocks.

my rear shocks were rat ****. then i replaced them and it cured alot of my noises/vibrations.

just a thought maybe you should check them

Really you can spend heaps trying to get rid of the very common vibration as described. Some cars respond to a fix whilst others retain it no matter what is replaced. Mine has it and I know that all driveline components are A1 so I just live with it. Actually I sort of like it as it feels like an aircraft when they power on to takeoff.

Could be the torque converter distorted as it would cause vibrations when accelerating, or engine mounts...

on the note of shockers and mounts, how much do u reckon new shocks would cost (nothing fancy) for front as mech said they r 'soft' when bushes got done. also would doing the engine mounts be an expensive job or hard if DIY?

    Hi Dave
Got the same problem with VS S/W V6 355k.
The auto transmission guy replaced the rear mount and removed some vibes but hasn't done the fronts as more difficult to get at.
As they get older the mounts get harder.
