    Default need help motor not starting

    hey every one i needsome help my mate has done a eco tec conversion in his vr doesanyone have any ideas i know the injectors rnt firing
    i wanted an SS but had to settle for a S the way i see it its only mising an extra S and 2 pistons

    if you have no spark or no injectors than have a look at the crank angle sensor.

    also the injectors have constint power (12v) and earth in the ecu, im hoping you changed all the wiring over to the ecotec wiring and computer

    If he has changed the ECU, then perhaps it's because the ECU and the BCM haven't been security linked. I'm unsure of the situation with a VR but I know with a VT if you change the BCM or the ECU then they have to be linked with a Tech2.

    hey all im still having trouble with the car and yes we have the wiring over but what do u mean by linking it with a tech 2

    As I said maybe VRs are different, but with later models the ECU and the BCM are security linked. IF you were to swap the BCM or the ECU then the two would not be linked and the car will not start, so you would need to take the car to Holden to have them linked with special machine called a Tech 2. It's a security thing.
    ECU= engine computer
    BCM= body control module

    Well if the security light on the dash is flashing when you try and start the car, it means the immobiliser is still on and that would be an indication that they aren't linked.
