    Default Removing upper spring insulator?

So ive heared of a few people removing the upper spring insulator on cars with a live axle to get the rear end lower, my question is what side effects would there be to doing this eg spring moving around when it shouldnt or making annoying noises. im just curious as i would like my car to tuck a bit of tyre which it doesnt do at the moment even with ultralows, also how are they removed?

    thanx

becareful as insulators help prvent spring slopping around from large bumps and also u may iencounter sum clunks ... did this to my vr non irs and it sounded horrible.
im pretty sure some suspension outfits have different sized insulators that you could try

i have none in my car.

if you have lowered springs and standard shocks i wouldnt do it.

but if you have shorterned shocks. they keep the springs in place so you will have no problems.

much safer than chopped or reset springs.

Yeah mine are out aswell . . but I have shortened shocks too. I think the standard insulator is an inch in thickness. Easiest way to do them is unbolt the shock and raise one side at a time from the body that is . .I dont even romove the wheel.. dosnt take long.

yeah well. my airbags made mine a bit harder but still the same concept.

    jack up the car.

    support it from the body.

    undo the shock

then pull them and they should come up.

just take the top. bottom dont really do much. even though i dont have any of the either :P
