few things different, but nothing to increase power.

From an exec base model the police pack includes: FE2 suspension, LSD, IRS, SS interior (for 5.0L models), 2km increments on speedo, extra light above speedo (you should see the hole in the top of the cluster), when plant the foot the auto trans drops to 2nd without moving the stick, and some have a kill switch for the interior dome light.

    I think that's it.

The VR's also have airbag. i think that came out standard in VS? also have larger fuel tank, sump and tank protectors, might be the same in VR/VS but the VX-VZ had different brake pads (grey ones) which are higher tensile(i think thats the word) but they chew discs and you'd hope that they have been changed since 1996 lol also had no brake shield on the knuckles not sure thats a benefit or not. They also had a magical chip that makes 400KW at the wheels :P

If it's staying on it could be due to the dome light switch turned to the "on" position - it's located on the headlight switch.

hako - what happened was when my mate still owned the car it blew a dash light unit fuse, so no speedo or gauges etc. he went to pull the old fuse out but grabbed the wrong one (drunk of course) he pulled out the interrior light fuse. he realised it was the wrong one and put it back in and ever since then light has stayed on.

A mate tested it with a multi-meter and came to that it was the little button on the door jam. swapped it over with another one (out of my old vn) and still nothing...

    forgot about them details

The kill switch (if fitted) is too keep the dome light off, not on. So I'd say you have a different problem. That's another one, bt1 had calais dome lamp with the map lights.

I still reckon that you should check the "stay on" switch.....most people don't even know it's there and every Commodore Exec built has one.
