hey all, i have a 93 acclaim VR sedan, and i've been having trouble with my passenger and left rear power windows. Sometimes they work, other times they dont move at all, u just keep clicking the up button untill they finally go. I have a feeling its the motors, right now the rear one just WONT budge, its all the way down, which got me thinking- is it just dust in the window railing stopping it from moving? Has anyone else had this problem?

Could be the front switch. One block controls the left side windows and your having troubles with the left side. See if that is your problem.
yeah was thinking that- got the back one up, found out i had the window lock button down hahaha :P
but, ye that window only goes up with the door switch, not the centre consol one- so i'm guessing theres some wireing loose somewhere, checked this morning, it all looked intact. My main worry is the front passenger window, its drivin me nuts now, takes for ever to get it up, you sometimes have the button down all day then finally, it starts up and closes. cant hear the motor wining away to get through any gunk thats in the frame- so i'm guessin the motor is on its way out?

****ing me right off
Spoke to a guy yesterday, and he said Check your switches first, before you go buying the regulator from a wreckers etc.. Hopefully its just your switches, the regulator wasnt fun to fix today when i did mine.
dont worry, il start a ride thread soon.
Usually it your switches ,swap them over from left to rigth to check them ,sometimes the little tabs break on the bottom of them and you can glue them ,and other times a electric window will play up because the BCM on its way out ,I have had both promblems in my VP Berlina in the past ( and yes it will only affect one window)
the bcm is only in use for the drivers window auto down..
i'd disassemble the switches and check and the metal contacts, its easier and can be done quickly. possibly swap switch blocks with a mate and see if the problem follows.. then if the problem is still there, look at the reg. remove the door skin and disconnect the wires from the reg, with a booster battery, keep winding up and down the window to see if the motor is on its way out.. u can check the movement of the window on the rubbers also..
should point you in the right direction.
i've seen u can get power window silicon spray to lube up the gap in the door frame- maybe a clean up in the track might loosen it up abit, but, i'll try all that out as well, cheers for the help

One of my windows wasn't going down from the front switch. I pulled the switch apart to try and fix it, ended up with parts everywherefixed the switch but broke the childlock feature. I'd wager it's the switch more then nething.
Get a test light and hold it to the wire going the the button ur pushing, if the switch is working the light will come on when you press the switch. That's how I determined for sure it was the switch![]()
Have a VR Berlina ... found the problem when i lifted the switch from the switch body ... be careful ... under the switch is a little plate on its edge that the rocking switch pushes ... this can fallout easily as you pull it apart ... clean it and swap it end for end ... it will get better contact and help solve your problem
Just curious.......when the window fails......are the lights on the switch block working?
The easiest 'fix' i have found for pwr windows, is to do as above^ with the test light, but find 2 terminals & short them out, while holding the switch in.
The VN-VS are a little more difficult, but a small screwdriver or unshielded test light do the trick.
VK-VL are easier, just use a 20c piece. LOL
That little trick has earned me beer! LOL
Cheers, Col.
P/S. If you figure out the motor is faulty, shoot me a PM.
