Hey!
A mate of mine has bought himself a VR Ute with factory central locking (we assume factory as the keyhead has the 'unlock' button which atm only turns the interior light on). The central locking works if you use the key, or the door lock in the cabin. However for some reason when you push the unlock button on his key the interior light comes on, although the central locking does nothing.
After close inspection we realised it has had an aftermarket central locking kit put in it.
We were wondering if we could somehow tap into the factory central locking circuit so that his keyhead will unlock the aftermarket central locking remotely?
Cheers![]()
Are these the right wires to tap into on the BCM?
LOCKING: black with yellow trace
DRIVERS UNLOCK: blue with black trace
OTHERS: black with red trace tap these and it will work
The central locking module has 2 wires
1x White
1x Green
Hopefully its as easy as finding which wire is the unlock/lock and splicing them into the above BCM wires.
Holden didnt put central locking in cars that had bcms desiginated ute if the wiring is there maybe you could get a VR exect low series bcm off ebay etc and keyhead and swap it over ...I dont know if the ute bcm even has a output for the locking. In the factory manual it shows it not featured.
But the wiring is
Black/yellow is 12+ Black/red is 12- is supplied to door motors to lock
Black/yellow is 12- Black/red is 12+ is supplied to door motors to unlock
