you said you pulled the top off the motor (i'm guessing you removed the plenum) and the gasket was stuffed. that right?? there's more chance of it being the valley gasket rather than a head gasket. yes a dead manifold (valley) gasket will allow a water/oil mix

check for air leaks, sometimes like what i did, i accidentally turned the screw on the throttle body and that throws out the base idle.

o-rings dont always have to be replaced, check if brittle etc, cause you can have small probs later trying to fit the injectors back in. For some itsan easy process, some like myself, i had bought the new o-rings, but saw that the originals were quite good. I took them out connected to the fuel rail. What you must do however is use VASELINE on them to get them back in, so they go in easily, otherwise you can get fuel leak.

Just on o-rings and other injector parts -does anyone know where these can be purchased? I asked at holden once and was shown the available parts. They did very little other than the complete injector. If anyone knows a supplier for fuel injector parts or the size of the o-rings i would be interested to hear.
