    Talking VE shifter to VS Calais

    hey im just wondering if anyone would have any clue on if a VE gear shifter on the auto box will fin into a VS auto with lil mods ..... and also im toying with a VE GTS steering wheel also would that even go close to fitting ?

    If the VE uses the 4L60E (instead of the 5L40E, which I think is standard in berlina and calias) Then it should work with minor modification. However, you will need to modify the trans tunnel (where the shifter mounts), your console and probably do some minor modifications to the shifter itsself. Also, expect to spend big bucks on the VE shifter and console.

    im pretty sure no VE uses the 4l60e box, the lower models use the 5l60e and the upper modeks use the 6 speed auto(6l60e??)

    sweet hey thanks was more so just looking to fit the shifter to the standard console as it would have to same virtical pull on the shift lock ...... only prob that i can see is i will have to make a item that fits around the shifter and slids up and down to display gears and the VE shifter will only set me back $250 brand new i know some ppl hey

    sorry mate yea ur right, the base models(omega/lumina/V) have the 4speed and then up from there its the 5 or 6 speeds

    all u need is an angle grinder and a welder and ull fit anything to anything.
    ull be able to get it on one way or another just how easy it is is the question
