hey,
need help in making a decision on how low i should go with my car...
i want the wheel arches to sit just above the tyres (like a cm or 2) but i dont want it to be so low that im getting heaps of cop attention ect.
also my car has stock rims atm but i will be looking at getting a set of 17 or 18s after its lowered
so im debating between king super lows with short kyb shocks or king lows with the stock shocks (im told you can use stock shocks with king lows?)
i would really apreciate it if people could post a pic of their car (side on) and let me know what they're running so i can make a decision!
thanks heaps in advance, andrew
I would also be interested in seeing some VR/VS sedans/wagons/utes with king spring superlows as i am looking at getting them for my VS Ute and well want it to sit lower but still be drivable without hitting curbs or attracting excess attention and hoping still able to tow/carry a load when necessary.
Thanks
Matt
That looks beautiful
Needs a good polish and wax, but coming from a person you normally looks past a VR/VS, that's beautiful![]()

I want to lower my VS ute but not too much, I read that King Super lows will lower it about 50-60mm, how much of a drop can I expect from King lows? Does anyone have a pic of a VR/VS with King lows?
Lows will ride roughly the same height as FE2, but initially will be a bit higher while they settle in. Lows are a good height for the back of a carMy VP Exec used to ride on lows at the back.

that looks awsome norti, but what does sssl mean? super lows? lol
yeah it does look pretty damn low, imagine that with 5 people in it on a dirt road lol
Here is a pic of mine with 18's and kings lows (KHFL 47) which were trimmed down to get the desired height (looks wise) about 10-12mm lower than they should be and about 12-15mm higher than super lows.
Before these i had KHFL47SL (super lows) but my twin 2 1/2 exhaust scraped on everything and had to replace both extractor to cat pipes, twice on the driver side which is why I changed springs but they looked too high so I cut 1/2 coil form both ends so that the coils still sit properley in the seats and they sat about 10-12mm lower.
I have now gone to Kings KHFL47 uncut, doesn't look quite as good but it is so much nicer to drive around this speed hump infested area called the Eastern Suburbs.
By the way the modified KHFL 47 are for sale.

Here's my vr lowered onto 19's with Lovells superlows i think... I bought them off a mate while back its fairly low.

dont know about clearance (we dont have the 100mm rule in SA) but eyebrow height is 350mm front and 345mm back.
I would say it clears 100mm easy anyway
Mine was on ultra lows, had about 100mm clearence but being live rear axel, the tyres would scrub on the guards with people in the back, even with rolled guards and a new panhard rod. Didn't like speed bumps too much either.
235-45-17 tyres

mines live aswell. When i loaded the back seat up with people and filled the boot i had about 10-15mm clearance between tyre and unrolled guard. Looked slammed as. Took it up the penninsula for 3 days and didnt scrub once(HD rear springs)
thanks for everyones input so far! i think i like the way your car sits tom, its low but not so low that you would get excessive police attention. i recon ill go for superlows
yeah i dont get second looks.
Police left me alone cos it looked so stock.
I think it was the offset on the rims that i had, i.ve never seen them before on another commo apart from mine.
yeah thats exactly right.
I think mines on legal, give or take, for a VR V6 live axle
