1994 VR scrap or project?

Hi all i am new around this forum just registered today :P

to the point Basically the car is ruff as guts all over.VR 1994 , it has all SS seats n door trimings not in the best condition ither.

drivers side door doesnt open right its very squeaky and hard to lock and unlock the door , central locking half works , roof triming needs to be done , body kit seems to be falling off .

now to the motor . I dont know much about commodore motors because i have owned a Ford up until about 3 months ago i crashed my ford and i found this for 1000$

seems to leak drops of oil , has a pod filter , idles a bit ruff , looks like it has extractors and a 2 n a half inch exhaust all the way , 223,000k's on the clock , the guy said it had a leaking exhaust gasket or something but it does make terrible putting sound on the right hand side of the motor sum where along the exhaust line.

Project car or Not?

May be a good car to raid for parts if you can pick up another one cheaply thats in good nick ,which shouldnt be too hard

hmm ganna strip the front down cause the front lights just dont sit right ill post a pic up almost done stripping the front.

found out most of the bodykit screw holes are rusty and the indicator light clips have broken off that attach to the main headlights.

while im here ill add a question : When i pull up use the brake the left hand front wheel shutters sounds like its wobbling is this due to warpped disc or the brake pads being really really worn because the pads have about as thin as a 5 cent peace left. ??? or has it got to do with the stearing mechanism where the axel joints pivot.

warped disk more than likley but could be manny things, give it a wobble when the wheel is in the air and see if there is any play, if there is play then its more than likeley the tie rods tie rod ends or wheel bering.
if no then remove the disk and mechine (a tyer place can do this) also do the other side and put new pads in.

id say its had a flogging for the last part of its life.
ditch it and find something better.
theres a hell of a lot better out there for $1000 than that.

thank of it this way - whats it going to cost you to bring it all up to scratch?
a couple of grand on the road?
spend that couple of grand on something better to start with.

the car has a nice sound to it.. its just when its driving u can really hear the leak somewhere on the right hand side of the motor wat could it be? any exhaust gaskets?? or something . also the tyres have seem to wear on the insides real bad how can i fix that.

heres wat she looks like at the moment , done a bit cleaning , oil change , ganna flush the radiator n then get on to this leak. stuck new pads n tightend the left hand caliper hope that stops the shuttering noise on the left hand wheel.





dont have a job at the moment so i got plenty of spare time on my hands so why not fiddle with it

hay m8 i picked up a vr ute for $2k it needs some work too one of my mates rebuilt a r32 skyline and his only advise was to set goals cuase that way you can see progress and it keeps you motavated
