just recently replaced my fuel pump in my 96 vs commodore and was driving it the other day and ran out of fuel but still had a quater of a tank?? the float is still acurate as it always has been!!!!.... when i did the change there was also a brown hose with something on the end of it and to get the pump out i had to give that thing a little tug to get it out? was i not suppesed to do that and is that what the problem is? does that hose have to go down in the black bowl with the filter and pump down in the tank????.... car is running fine now just means that my car is "running" out of fuel but there is still fuel in there......????
