    Default What oil for LSD in 5.0 ltr vs III

    Can someone advise if i need to replace oil in my LSD V8 series 3 ute?

    Car has done 175000 klm. Owners handbook does no give any details?

    Any advise is appreciated.

    Do it anyway just to be sure, it will set you back $20 to do it yourself.
    LSD oil can be found practicly anywhere.

    Yes diff oil does need to be replaced as part of your service schedule. As far as I know this should be changed around every 50000 kms or so but personally I do it every 10000 just to keep things nice and clean. There is heaps of brands and grades of diff oil on the market that are suitable, just make sure what you purchase is specifically meant for use in a limited slip diff. Personally I use Penrite Limslip 90 and have nothing other than positive comments to make about it. Also if your diff is a little worn and possibly starting to give a bit of a whine, a thicker oil grade may be beneficial.
